Product Manager

Job Description

About the Role

The Product Manager is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the Product Lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. They will develop a vision and roadmap for the product based on input from internal stakeholders, customers, market research and their own industry insight. They will identify the key benefits and value of products. This will be used to create and maintain marketing plans and collateral (including web updates, product training materials and sales training). The Product Manager’s job also includes ensuring that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals.

 

Responsibilities
➢ Shape the product roadmap for the core products and own the strategy for all new products and features.
➢ Lead product strategy by harnessing the collective knowledge of all stakeholders (engineers, CEO, clients) and develop detailed requirements and features that are cost effective.
➢ Identify and fill product gaps, lead the brainstorming of new ideas that grow market share.
➢ Know customer needs through research and market data.
➢ Create long- and short-term product sales forecasts and analyses for management.
➢ Recommend the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements, appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.
➢ Facilitate inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and adjusting inventory levels and production schedules.
➢ Write Product Requirements and Market Requirements documents.
➢ Bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs, preparing return-on-investment analyses, and establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.
➢ Perform product demos to customers.
➢ Brief analysts and the press.
➢ Run trials and MVPs, develop and deliver go to market launch plans.
➢ Determine product pricing by utilizing market research data, reviewing production and sales costs, anticipating volume, and costing special and customized orders.
➢ Recruit, train, and manage product team by planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
➢ Complete operational requirements to meet product development deadlines by scheduling and assigning employees, and following up on work results, including quality control and testing.
➢ Develop sales tools and collateral.
➢ Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and content, and participating in professional societies.
➢ Evaluate promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed.
➢ Collaborate closely with engineering, production, marketing, and sales teams on the development, QA, and release of products and balance of resources to ensure success for the entire organization.
➢ Represent the team with partners and senior company leaders to align resources and prioritization.

Desired Skills & Experience
➢ 6 - 8+ years of professional experience as a Product Manager for a platform or consumer-oriented product.
➢ Experience working with a high-performing team of software engineers, using agile software development practices.
➢ Experience working with data analytics to understand product usage, identify opportunities, and design experiments that enable you to measure your products performance.
➢ Experience delivering results through collaboration with cross-functional teams, through clear written communication.
➢ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Marketing required (MBA preferred).
➢ A track record in product management, demonstrating a product that you have created and launched into the market.
➢ Previous experience in a similar role within a B2B SaaS environment.
➢ Highly motivated and productive, an entrepreneurial self-starter.
➢ Experience using modern collaboration tools in a highly responsive environment.
➢ Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
➢ Must be able to travel when required.
➢ Great planning and organizational skills, good time management, with the ability to manage and prioritize own workload and to deal with urgent deadlines and changes to requirements.
