Sales Engineer – SOLIDWORKS SaaS Product Portfolio

Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Engineer to manage sales and account management for our SOLIDWORKS product portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software sales, an understanding of mechanical engineering or manufacturing processes, and a passion for delivering technical solutions to clients. This role combines technical expertise with sales acumen to grow market share, build customer relationships, and drive revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive sales of SOLIDWORKS products including CAD, CAM, CAE, and PLM solutions.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle – from lead generation to closing – for both new and existing accounts.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships through regular engagement and value-driven support.
  • Understand client needs, identify opportunities, and propose solutions that align with their business and technical goals.
  • Deliver product presentations, demos, and technical consultations tailored to customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including technical support, product management, and marketing to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitive products, and advancements in CAD/CAM/CAE technology.
  • Provide feedback from the field to improve product offerings and customer experience.

Education/Experience

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • 2–5 years of experience in software sales, preferably in CAD/CAM/CAE or related SaaS platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BE/B.Tech), B.Sc, BBA, or BMS.
  • Solid understanding of basic manufacturing processes such as fabrication, machine design, 3D printing, and product design cycles.
  • Proven track record in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Technical aptitude with the ability to translate complex solutions into business value.
  • Experience with CRM tools and SaaS sales models is an advantage.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with the SOLIDWORKS ecosystem or similar engineering software platforms.
  • Exposure to working with design teams, engineering heads, or manufacturing units.
  • Consultative selling skills with a customer-first mindset
