Distribution Centre Manager

Job Description

Key Responsibilities


1. Distribution Centre Setup & Management
o Oversee the setup and operationalization of distribution centre processes.
o Develop and implement efficient workflows to handle inventory receiving
storing and dispatching.
o Ensure compliance with safety quality and operational standards.
2. Inventory Management
o Monitor and manage inventory levels to avoid overstocking or stockouts.
o Coordinate with procurement and retail teams to align inventory with store
requirements.
o Conduct regular audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
3. Team Leadership
o Lead train and manage warehouse and distribution staff.
o Foster a culture of accountability teamwork and continuous improvement.
o Ensure adherence to HR policies and safety protocols.
4. Process Optimization
o Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements to enhance
productivity.
o Leverage technology to streamline operations including inventory
management systems.
5. Retail Operations Coordination
o Collaborate with retail teams to forecast demand and plan distribution
schedules.
o Support store launches and promotional events with timely inventory delivery.

6. Reporting & Analytics
o Generate regular reports on key operational metrics including turnaround
times order accuracy and inventory turnover.
o Provide insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic
planning.

Education/Experience

Qualifications and Skills

  1. Experience:
    o 10+ years in warehouse operations and distribution centre management.
    o Prior experience in retail as a Distribution Centre Manager is highly desirable.
  2. Technical Expertise:
    o Proficiency in warehouse management systems and inventory tracking tools.
    o Knowledge of lean principles and best practices in logistics.
  3. Leadership:
    o Proven ability to lead and develop teams in a high-pressure environment.
    o Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  4. Communication:
    o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with
    cross-functional teams.
