Environmental Engineers are responsible for protecting the natural environment by designing, developing and implementing systems and processes to prevent pollution and manage natural resources. They work to ensure that air, water and land are safe for human and animal life, and work to identify and mitigate environmental hazards. Environmental engineers use their knowledge of engineering and environmental science to design and implement solutions to environmental problems and ensure that projects comply with environmental regulations. They are also involved in environmental impact assessments, monitoring and reporting of environmental impacts, as well as environmental management systems. Environmental Engineers need to have a strong understanding of environmental laws and regulations, as well as knowledge of various environmental engineering technologies.
